Context I created this project as part of my studies at Yoobee Colleges. We had to choose an existing brand/company and an existing event, and then create apparel for the company to wear to the event. We had to follow their existing branding and style direction as closely as possible, while also creating a new and exciting design for the apparel. We also had to consider real world printing methods and restrictions.
Company I choose Mini Garden, a New Zealand located succulent store. I based my designs off their owl logo and the imagery used on their webpage. Their website is minigarden.co.nz In this theoretical scenario, MiniGarden would be hosting a stall at the New Zealand Home and Garden show, and would need a staff uniform.
Concepts I decided that the company uniform would be a durable apron overtop of a shirt. The shirt would have a large graphic on the back so that it would not be covered by the apron. Their web address would also be on the shirt, as Mini Garden is an online only store. I also designed several small badges that staff could wear to show off their expertise. I created small succulent illustrations in the same style as the owl logo, and used them on the apparel.
Print Specifications The shirts would be screenprinted, so that they are longlasting, durable, and reflect the high-quality, professional products that they sell. The badges will also will be embroided to maintain the brands high-quality image.
Mock Ups These mockups were created in Adobe Photoshop, to show what the staff uniform would look like.
Software Skills I used Adobe Illustrator to create the artwork for the apparel. I used Adobe Photoshop to mockup the range of deliverables. I also used Adobe InDesign to create an accompanying process document for grading.
